7th Polytechnic Culture Exhibition 

Polimi Design Ambassadors presents: “Taglietti: Life in Design”

The exhibition “Taglietti: Life in Design” is part of the broader “Polimi Design Ambassadors” initiative, which aims to identify and promote architects, industrial designers, and engineers who—throughout the history of the Politecnico, from 1863 to the present—have contributed in various ways to bringing the Milanese university’s scientific and creative “message” to the world.
This exhibition presents the work of Italian-Australian architect Enrico Taglietti (Milan, 1926 – Canberra, 2019) and his creative partnership with his wife, Franca—a couple who integrated “design thinking” into every aspect of their lives, both public and private. The exhibition portrays Enrico Taglietti as an architect of international stature, whose experience spanned diverse continents and cultures across Europe, Africa, and Australia. It explores his impact and legacy, as well as the design principles that shaped his architectural vision.
The opportunity to stage this exhibition—which coincides with what would have been the centenary of Taglietti’s birth in Milan in 1926—arose from a curatorial collaboration between the Politecnico di Milano, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, the Taglietti Studio Archive, and the University of Queensland in Brisbane.
